Moving to a new country brings incredible opportunity, growth, and stability. But it can also feel isolating. Festivals feel quieter, milestones feel smaller, and birthdays don’t always have a room full of people.

We experienced this ourselves. While building our life in Calgary, we focused on stability, careers, and responsibilities. But along the way, we realized something vital: You don’t just need a house in a city; you need people. Calgary Chai Party was created to build that space.

What Is Calgary Chai Party?

Calgary Chai Party is a monthly, small-group gathering designed to help like-minded people connect, talk, and slowly build meaningful friendships. It’s simple:

• We meet.

• We introduce ourselves.

• We share tea and light snacks.

• We lean into guided conversations.

No pressure. No pitches. Just real conversations.

How It Works

We intentionally keep our gatherings intimate so that everyone has a chance to speak and connections feel genuine.

• Invitation Only: To maintain a safe and close-knit environment, this is an invitation-only event. Please express your interest via the form below to be invited for our guest list. An email will be sent with details about the event and confirm your spot.

• Limited Capacity: Max 25 people per event.

• Structured Flow: We start with warm introductions and a random icebreaker to spark the room.

• Small-Group Focus: Discussions happen in cozy clusters to keep things comfortable.

• Relaxed Environment: An open, “come as you are” atmosphere.

Our Vision

This is more than just a tea event; it’s about creating a support system for those of us building a life in a new country. If we plan to live here long-term, we believe we must build community—not wait for it.

Our Goals:

1. Host monthly small gatherings to keep the momentum going.

2. Organize 3 larger community events each year to celebrate together.

3. Create a space where every person feels seen, heard, and supported.

Event Details

• Frequency: Monthly

• Attendance: By Invitation Only

• Capacity: 25 seats (Registration/Interest Form required)

• Investment: Paid event (Includes venue and refreshments)

• Family Policy: Children aged under 15 and below attend for free. However, to ensure we have adequate space and refreshments, we must know in advance if you are bringing children. Please include this in your interest form. Children aged 15 and above will have to pay full ticket price same as adults.
