People ask what tools I use to run two businesses without a team. Here’s my actual stack — the things I open every week.
Banking & money
Venn (read my full review →) — my business banking, built for Canadian small businesses. EQ Bank (read my full review →) — where I park savings for a better rate. Wise (read my full review →) — how I pay my supplier in India; the rates and fees beat every bank I tried. Wealthsimple (read my full review →) — investing and longer-term savings.
Accounting
Xero — connects to my bank, tracks expenses, and makes GST and tax time survivable.
Selling online
Shopify (read my full review →) — both my stores run on it. Easiest way I’ve found to launch a real online store without a developer.
Content & marketing
Metricool — I schedule and track social posts here. Kit — my email list and free lead magnets.
Productivity
Google Workspace — professional email on my own domain, plus docs and storage.
My rule for tools
I don’t add a tool unless it removes real friction. Start with a bank account, bookkeeping, and one selling platform. Add the rest only when you feel the pain they solve.
Disclosure: some links I share are referral/affiliate links. If you sign up, I may earn a small commission or bonus at no extra cost to you. I only recommend tools I actually use.
